"By introducing kids to mountain biking, we hope not only to foster a generation of active children, but ones who have a fondness for adventure, a connection with nature and respect for the environment."

When:   Sunday, May 16, 11 - 2pm.  Registration opens at 10:45.
Where:  Stillwell Woods Preserve, Syosset  Click here for directions.

All riders (kids and parents) should have a safely functioning bike and helmet.  Cycling gloves, eye protection and a water bottle are strongly recommended.

Although beverages will be available, this is a BYOB (bring your own reusable bottle) event to avoid the use of plastic bottles.

What difference does it make?
– 1.5 million tons of waste per year is attributed to bottled water
– Bottled water production requires 47 million gallons of oil per year
– 80% of plastic bottles are simply thrown away
– That which does not go to landfills can end up in the ocean and other bodies of water, which in turn negatively affect delicate ecosystems and the marine life and birds that inhabit them
